John Daniel is the author of eleven books of poetry, essays,
memoir, and fiction, including Rogue River Journal, Looking After,
The Trail Home, Gifted, and Lighted Distances: Four Seasons on Goodlow Rim. His books have been reviewed in the New York Times,
Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and the Oregonian, among other publications, and have won three Oregon Book Awards in Literary Nonfiction, a Pacific Northwest Booksellers
Award, and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
A former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, Daniel
has taught as a writer-in-residence at universities across the country.
He lives with his wife, Marilyn, in the Coast Range foothills west
of Eugene, Oregon.
