My life has flipped upside down
after our marriage
became an abandoned
bridge. Doomed to be
a lonely dog, I trot in the night
of my mind as empty
as a dog bowl. How I wish
to rebuild a bridge
to span our riverbanks, so
we can walk hand in hand
from one side
to the other. Please
come back! I will wag and
scamper toward you
when you cross the bridge.
